Great article, love that he was involved in the Raccoon site, my son's favorite animal is a Raccoon, he still has the stuffed one he got as a child, it sits on his piano!
My wife had a parakeet. It got out one day and almost made its escape trying to chew through the screen window.
The stress killed it, my wife rushed it to emergency care but brought it back lifeless. As I was burying it, I took off my cap and said “ thanks for being a good friend to my wife and she started crying ha...
I got addicted to purple martins for several years. There is this web site that reports when they head back up north. Maybe you saw some in Illinois.
I had a house for them and would monitor that purple martin web site ( maps showing you where they are spotted, the anticipation as they are reported closer and closer to the Midwest!!!!!!) then the first one arrives!!!!!! Then 4, then 6 and you can sit on your back porch listening to purple martins all summer, every day.
I read that as “I got addicted to purple martinis”, and I’m thinking wow he really took a left turn to talk about his alcohol problem in the middle of this bird discussion. Also I would like to taste a purple martini.
I saw a few in the wild but we never had any come into the rescue, they are beautiful birds though. I’ve been thrilled to see peach faced lovebirds in Ahwatukee, I’d read about them before I came here but didn’t think I would see any.
I’m gonna see if there are any purple martins in Arizona.. although the folks in charge of this over 55 place may not let me put up a house. There’s gotta be water nearby and lots of mosquito’s so maybe not.
Wow, bummer about the Italian sausage thing, one of the wonders of the world is unavailable.
Agreed. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Steve Peters probably puts ketchup on his Italian sausage

Raccoons are among my favorite animals.
Thanks Craig!
Thanks for doing this, Joe!

That Boedker goal in OT against the Ducks was the first 3 on 3 OT win for the Coyotes.
I admire a guy who becomes a fan of a thing as a part of a failed attempt to impress a girl. :-)
Love getting to learn about my fellow Coyote fans. Joe: Best of luck in med school!
